Alumni of Record

    Good morning.

We calculate alumni of record at beginning of fiscal year and it stays constant all year when calculating alumni participation rate. If we lose an alum, or find and alum, or an alum dies, all those changes get built into the next years alumni of record, including new grads during the year. Is this standard practice?

Well, for VSE and US News purposes you typically take your snapshot as of the last day of the fiscal year.

As for recent grads, they are typically excluded in that end-of-year number as they were only alumni for about a month.

Yes, the denominator for our participation rate is calculated once and then stays the same until we recalculate it next year.
