I have a bit of a random question. Let's say someone agrees to speak at the institution for a set price (e.g. an honorarium), and emails the institution after the speaking engagement with a request to route the honorarium to a gift account.
If those funds are internally transferred within the institution (e.g. it's NOT a case of sending the check to the speaker, and the speaker sending a gift for the same amount back to the institution), is that sufficient documentation to book the transfer as a gift and issue a receipt to the speaker?
