Database Capacity Inquiry for Higher Ed

Is there any reason to create a new constituent record for a formerly attended student that did not graduate AFTER they pass? Understandably, they were never solicited, never received any communication from alumni or advancement following their transfer/withdrawal, and never made a gift to us of any size while living.

The Registrar does Education Verifications, and those aren't needed in the afterlife, so it is not needed for that purpose. Your thoughts?

    Thank you.

There is no need - unless, that is, there remains some other family tie to the organization.

In other words, if the parents of the former student are in the database, or perhaps a sibling, I would be inclined to create that record and link it to those family members.  Doing so would prevent a possibly embarrassing conversation down the road should a fundraiser engage with one of those family members.
