Decrease in Donors

As we've hit the mid-year mark for our fiscal year, I've noticed a rather sharp decrease in our donors fiscal year to date. I'm curious if anyone else is seeing an odd trend similar to what we're experiencing?

For years, we've seen the common "decrease in donors, increase in dollars." But this year, the decrease seems more dramatic.

At this point, the cause could be a number of things. If we're primarily alone in this decrease, I have a few internal causes in mind (gift officer turnover, recent marketing/communication changes, etc.). But if others are also seeing this, it could be related to a number of external factors (volatile economy, high inflation, etc.).

Just testing the waters, to see if we're alone in this. Misery loves company, after all.

    Thank you!

You're not alone! I just ran our numbers for a team meeting, and we're seeing a rather sharp decrease in number of donors but still seeing an increase in dollars raised (these numbers are specifically for our annual giving area).

Would love to hear from others, too.

We, too, have seen a decrease in the number of donors and an increase in the donation amount(s).  We received some generous one-time gifts, which I am sure contributed to the increase in total $$ raised.
