Hi All, Mizzou just ended our current Campaign and we are in the process of reviewing our old counting polices. Would anyone have a policy they would be willing to share that is less than 5 years old :).

    Thanks,
    Shannon

When outside of a campaign, the VSE counting policies still stand.  What else do you want to count and for what audience?

I trust you mean for internal purposes only since the VSE is the VSE and you can't change those rules.  However, when I was at both Duke and NC State all of our non-campaign reports to staff and Trustees followed CASE VSE rules.  We had two sets of reports - one that was strictly per VSE, and the second what we called "Gifts and New Commitments."  That counted only outright gifts (no pledge payments) and new pledges and bequest expectancies.

I suggest that you hold off looking at anything new unless you plan on launching a campaign this year.  CASE is in the final stages of revising the CASE Guidelines.  The new edition should be out next spring.  It will likely have some suggested changes to the current guidelines.  So I suggest waiting to see what those changes look like before crafting new policies.
