Cash and Conditional Pledge

Quick question that applies mainly to Banner schools. If my $20m pledge is:
    $6m conditional
    $14m regular cash pledge
THERES no way to book that under one pledge number, right?

    Thanks for your help!

You are correct.  The challenge is that the system isn't set up to feed only portions of a pledge.  While you can split a pledge between multiple funds, the conditional flag sits (I believe) on top of the pledge and not at the individual account level.

Additionally, many institutions exclude conditional pledges from official fundraising reports (that's an institutional decision).  That complicates matters.

As there are such big differences in accounting AND counting for enforceable and conditional pledges, it seems reasonable to record both independently.

Correct . . . the 'conditional' attribute (pledge category) is at the pledge level . . .

What we would do is to enter them as two pledges with the same date so that on certain reporting (e.g. donor stewardship) the full $20m is reported but for other reporting (e.g. campaign reporting), it will break out the two pledges as conditional vs. not.
