    I'm in the midst of digitizing hard files that go back 20+ years and debating what needs to be kept and what doesn't. If a donor sent us a letter with a check 20 years ago, sure, let's keep that, but an annual giving form letter and tax receipt from 2010? Copies of our endowment report cover letter from 5 years ago? Our giving history is in the database and I plan on keeping documentation for gifts going back seven years for audit purposes. Does anyone have a policy they're willing to share?
