Blackbaud Award Management Alternatives

  • 1.  Blackbaud Award Management Alternatives

    Good evening, all.

A coworker has been digging into Blackbaud's Award Management tool (formerly AcademicWorks), and has been pitching it to other departments on campus. There is a significant need for a system that will manage scholarships, both from an awarding standpoint and a donor stewardship standpoint. She's found interest, but has been met with requests for more information on alternatives that are in the marketplace fulfilling a similar purpose. Since I am not directly involved with scholarships, I am personally not aware of alternatives. The archives of posts mentioned WizeHive. Is that a decent alternative? Are there other scholarship management tools out there?

    Thank you for the assistance.

    Hi Nate,

I am not familiar with Wizehive. We are looking to move away from BAM, which is not to say it wouldn't work for your needs. Our decentralized implementation and lack of training resources have made it difficult to optimize the functionality across our scholarship coordinators.

    We looked at these:

    Award Spring: https://www.awardspring.com/

    Scholarship Universe: https://campuslogic.com/products/scholarshipuniverse/

I would be interested to hear of anyone's tips or recommendations for successful deployment, especially of the later.

Hello – We are working through implementing BAM as this time.  This program seems to work well if awards are made in BAM.  It is when you do this in another program that becomes a challenge.  It can work but there are extra steps needed.

    Happy to discuss offline.

    Best regards,

    Tracy

    Good morning Nate –

I would recommend looking at Salesforce Grant Management for managing your scholarships.  Lots of ways to manage the workflows and automate the process.
