Lockbox Service

    Hello everyone – we explored moving to a lockbox and decided to take the plunge.  We worked with our institution bank and there is a lockbox facility in our city (Los Angeles).  We thought everything was ready, but found out that we cannot use Business Reply Mail envelopes with the lockbox, unless we have a CALLER BOX SERVICE with CLOSED FORWARD.  All of this is news to us.  Our current BRM envelopes come to our street address and we were told we would be assigned a PO Box # by the bank. 


    Are there any non-profits in the Los Angeles area who have moved to a lockbox?  How did it go?  Thanks-

    I too am having difficulty with getting a Business Reply Mail envelope to use with a lockbox/treasury management service. Our current bank that we have an existing relationship with (nationwide and very well known) has a lockbox location here in town at a reasonable price so that's all good. When we informed our bank that we wanted to use a BRM envelope, we were given the Box number and address, but told that we had to work through the USPS on the BRM approval and permit number. After attempting to work through the USPS for approval and permit number, I was eventually informed that we cannot set up BRMs using the boxes with the zip our bank provided as it is what the USPS considers a "unique zip". Is this something others have run into and solved? Thank you in advance if you can advise/assist.
