check imaging/depositing services

We are looking for options to streamline our gift processing that would allow us to scan a check, make the deposit into the bank and build a gift batch and pass the imaged check to our imaging system in a single workflow/process. Does anyone have some vendors they would recommend?

Tom, I do not have a third-party suggestion.  I do, however, suggest that you begin by having a discussion with your primary financial institution (probably a joint call with your counterpart in Finance).

For starters, they will be certain to have a solution that conforms to FFIEC guidelines.  Secondly, many of the larger financial institutions offer RDC solutions that do more than capture checks.  Your bank may already have a solution that meets your needs.  If they don't, they likely can recommend a vendor they have worked with.

FWIW, what you have described is most of what a lockbox does.  Many organizations take electronic feeds from their banks' lockbox services to build batches and store images.  So, while you are talking to your bank about RDC products, it wouldn't hurt to ask about lockbox services and costs.

    Hi Tom,

We use AQ2 for our lockbox solution which enables us to send check21 files to the bank and upload to our gift technology platforms. We've used them since 2015 and are pretty happy with them.

    I hope this helps!

    Hello, Tom!

We use remote deposit with our bank but we are in the process of establishing a lockbox with our bank. The plan is to have items sent to the lockbox and then we will set up a daily transmission to receive images of the deposited checks/documents. Those will then get uploaded to our content management system, Perceptive Content, so they can be route to the work queues for our Associates to enter the gifts.

If your bank does not offer a lockbox, I know that Merkle RMG is a vendor that has come up as a third party suggestion in previous lockbox/caging discussions. I think they
