    Hi, team.  I'm looking for information/resources on impermissible benefits for events.  For example, a donor attempting to bifurcate or a Foundation paying for an event and expecting to be comped tickets.  Can someone point me in the right direction?  I'm looking for documentation I can share.

    Issac, I vaguely recall the IRS Notice 17-73.  You will recall it was a "request for comment" only.  It did, though, permit the application of Section IV until further guidance was issued.  That section allowed payments on pledges by DAFs under certain circumstances - but not when the issuing DAF said it wasn't allowed!

    Anyway, I wanted to point out that this notice isn't "law" - mostly just information.  And it pertains to donor-advised funds, not private foundations.

    I meant to say I vaguely recalled the PGCalc FAQ - the Notice I know about!

    But remember that both documents pertain to DAFs whereas the original question was based on a foundation perspective.
